Partnership with the Soma community includes joyful stewardship of time, talent, and treasure for the sake of our shared mission. Financial commitment to the needs and mission of this Soma family is one of the key ways we connect, share one another's burdens, and partner together.
joyful generosity
Why We Give
We desire to be generous, because generosity is the way of those who call Christ their Lord. We believe generosity is a distinct trait of believers in Christ, and Scripture points to this! Our hope at Soma is that through our generous giving, we show what Christ is like to all the world.
“The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should do as he has decided in his heart—not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Generosity Prayer
Lord, here I am. I bring what I have — my finances, my faith, my fears. I don’t want to give out of guilt or compulsion. I want to give because you’ve loved me, saved me, and called me your own. I want to give because I love you, because I love this family, because I believe in what you’re doing among and through us.
Search my heart. Show me my part. Give me the courage to say yes to whatever you ask. We want our giving to be an act of worship — one you receive and multiply for your glory and the good of this city and the world. Amen.
